Show Me privacy policy
Effective Date: October 24, 2026
Show Me captures full-page screenshots of webpages and saves them on your computer. This policy is for the Show Me Chrome extension. It is separate from the Product by Mark website privacy policy.
Information handled
To provide this functionality, Show Me processes the content of the webpage you choose to capture, its URL and title, screenshot images, screen names, comments you place on the page, and capture preferences such as layout, number of screens, and destination. Screenshots may contain personal information that was displayed on the captured page.
To show the Downloads folder in Settings, Show Me reads recent download filenames already stored by Chrome on your computer. If you choose a folder, the browser stores that folder access on your computer. While a mobile layout is in use, Show Me remembers the desktop browser identity for the current browser session so it can switch back.
How information is used
This information is used to create, name, organize, and save your screenshots, to place comments on the captured page, and to remember your preferences.
Show Me’s use of information received through Chrome permissions complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. That information is used only to provide and improve the screenshot feature described above. It is not sold or transferred to others, used for advertising or to determine creditworthiness or for lending, or read by the developer.
Local processing and storage
Show Me processes screenshots locally and saves exported files on your computer. Preferences are stored in your browser with Chrome’s local storage. Comments and the temporary desktop browser identity are stored for the current browser session and are not synced to a Google account. Show Me does not transmit screenshots, page content, URLs, titles, comments, download filenames, or preferences to the developer’s servers or to third-party services. It does not include analytics or crash reporting.
If you independently choose a folder synchronized by another service, that service may upload the saved files according to your settings and its own privacy policy.
Sharing and sale
The developer does not receive, sell, or share the information processed locally by Show Me.
Retention and deletion
Saved screenshots remain in your chosen location until you delete them. You can delete exported files with your computer’s file manager. Uninstalling Show Me removes its extension storage but does not delete screenshots already exported to your computer.
